GET THE LOOK: Taylor Swift

Hello everyone! Wow, is it just me, or does Taylor Swift just keep getting prettier and prettier? I know the MTV Music Awards was a while ago (was it last Thursday or two weeks ago?) and when I was watching it, I fell in love with Tay's look. I think it was just so preppy and classic, and it totally worked for her. Anyway, I thought I'd just do a quick get the look on how to find pieces similar to her outfit:

I found this top at Forever 21 for literally $13! Though it's slightly different from Tay's, I think it still looks pretty similar. In fact, I would probably wear this over the top she has on in the picture! It says it's an orange cream on the website, but...I don't know. That looks red to me. Anyway, if you want something cheaper, a red and white striped shirt is NOT hard to find. I'm sure they have one on amazon or ebay, or check your local thrift store!

I pretty much figured that anyone who is reading this already has a pair of black shorts, but oh, well. Tay's look is pretty simple anyways, so if  you already have black shorts, you're good to go! But I just saw these ripped black shorts at Pac Sun and I thought they might look nice with the top. I feel like they add more excitement to the outfit, rather then just plain black shorts, but whatever floats your boat! :)

Surprisingly, finding a pair of red oxfords was very hard. I mean, a lot of places have oxfords, but not bright red ones. Finally, I just settled on amazon. If you like these oxfords, you can get them here.

That's it for this post of GET THE LOOK! I'm a little sad that Taylor didn't wear an jewelry...that's my favorite part. :( But overall, I think this look is super casual and cute if you just feel like being comfortable one day. And if you want to wear your hair like Taylor's, you're in luck - all you have to do is pull it into a high ponytail!

5 FALL TRENDS: 2012

Hello beauties! I know I haven't posted in a long time - I've just been super duper busy transitioning from summer to fall. I can't believe it's already over! Nevertheless, I'm actually really happy that it's fall time. Fall is one of my favorite seasons - I love the color of the leaves, warm coffee and hot chocolate, pumpkin - I mean  anything pumpkin - and especially the fashion! I'm a fall girl at heart, and I can't wait to start wearing some of the fall trends this year:

1. Oxfords

I'm completely in love with this shoe. I know that it has come back in style for some time now, but for me, this is just a total fall shoe. I love the oxford shoe for three reasons:

1. It's comfortable - Let's face it - it's getting chilly! And even though some of us may like the cold, it's never comfortable to be just piling on the layers. I think oxfords are a great choice because they're easy to walk in, especially around school, and they make it look like you put a long time into your shoe choice when you actually didn't! Lately, these have been my go-to-shoe obsession, and surprisingly, they are totally comfortable! Reason 2: They're classic - I'm all for trends and trying out new things, but there are just some pieces that will be in style forever. So when you wear your oxfords, you can know that in ten years, when you look back at pictures, you won't be mortified at what you were wearing and how you thought that was in style. Reason 3: They go with every style - Oxfords come in all different shapes and sizes - you could with a heel, a wedge, a boot, or even a flat! Whether it's preppy, boho, glam, or refined, these shoes will never fail to complete your own personal look.

2. Natural Eye shadow

I'm pretty natural when it comes to eye shadow (unless it's an event or I'm just in the mood to mix it up!), so this is another favorite perk of fall for me. While it's super fun to try out colors during the spring and summer, fall is just that time where you can sweep on colors like champagne, tan, or brown, and you're good to go! It's super easy and looks really effortless and classy. It also goes with almost every outfit! Try going on you tube and searching tutorials.

3. Leather Jackets

Ok, here comes my favorite part! I'm a huge leather jacket girl (that sounds weird). I'm obsessed that I even tried to keep wearing them after winter, and even into spring. I got totally overheated and probably stared at because everyone was wondering why I was dressed for wintertime! Now that fall is just around the corner, I can start wearing my favorite piece of clothing again. I think leather jackets are so fun. I especially love wearing them with really girly dresses, because I think it's a nice mix. They're also super cute with a pair of dark or light skinnies, depending on the shade of the jacket. I have one in dark brown, one in light brown, and one in black, which I think are probably the three best colors to get when purchasing a leather jacket, because they basically go with everything!

4. Over sized Sweaters

I'm a huge fan of over sized sweaters! They're super comfy and just the perfect item to throw on in the morning when you don't feel like dressing up. I recently got this one from Urban Outfitters, and I am just loving it. I've gotten a ton of compliments when I wear it with a dark pair of skinny jeans and some boots. Also, if you just throw on the sweater, a cute long necklace, and maybe some earrings or a bracelet, you look like you spent a lot of time when you actually didn't! Plus, that way you'll have more time to do your makeup and hair, and maybe try out some new looks. My only advice is to make sure the sweater doesn't make you look bigger then you actually are (I just got a high-low sweater....yikes).

5. Shorts with Tights

I've always been obsessed with this style. It's so cute and looks like an effortless little hispter coffee shop look :). I usually like to go with a pair of dark wash jean shorts, some thin black tights, and some boots. It depends on your style, but I think if you are going for something a little more daring, you should try this out. It keeps you warm all day, and it probably makes you look extra fab and fashionable :)

Alrighty! That is it for my 5 Fall Trends of 2012. I hope you guys enjoyed this and found it useful. This might be a little late, because school has probably already started, but I hope everyone is doing well. Until next time - Love ya, girlies!
